This week Ivka Adam is speaking with Jenna Naughton, Senior Manager of Consumer Marketing, about eBay’s fall media campaign. In addition to “out of home” assets like billboards, bus shelters and walls in selected U.S. markets, this campaign signals eBay’s return to television after a two-year absence.
“In the last couple of years we’ve really taken the time to invest in our user experience and getting great merchandise on the sites,” Naughton explains. “We have so much to celebrate – our publishers know it… but not all of the consumers know about it, so we’re really doing this ad campaign to get people re-excited, re-energized and re-engaged about eBay - whether they’re current shoppers or whether they’re actually new, off eBay shoppers.”
As Jenna explains, the TV spots have started popping up on-air this week. If you haven’t had a chance to see them - or maybe want to see them again – we’ve included them here for you.
On a personal note, I’m excited to see eBay get back to some of these big branding efforts. I think the spots are timely, clever and funny. I’m also excited (based on our recent announcements) that these spots have a decidedly mobile spin. What do you think? We’d love to get your comments below.
