Clothing is the Hottest Trend in E-Commerce

As a publisher at ePN we understand that you’re always trying to stay one step ahead of the curve and identify those big trends that will help elevate your business to the next level. Well, if you’re in the clothing or fashion vertical, then you’ll be pleased with the finding of a recent eMarketer study. They’re predicting that the apparel and accessories sector is expected to grow 20% to $40.9 billion this year - up from $34.2 billion in 2011.

Historically, the sale of books, music and videos have been considered the most dominant e-commerce categories, but those are only expected to grow by 18% this year to $20.4 billion.

eBay’s innovation has specifically been called out by AllThingsD citing our augmented reality app that allows users to “try on” sunglasses by layering them over a picture of their face.
