As previously announced through email and on our blog (HERE and HERE), RSS 1.0 has been deprecated and is no longer supported. The hard deadline for switching to RSS 2.0 is May 31, 2012, after which RSS 1.0 will no longer be in service. All publishers using RSS 1.0 must transition to RSS 2.0 before that time to avoid any interruption in service.
Some of you have had questions about the process of transitioning. As a result, we’ve compiled some helpful documents, including several blog posts to help make this transition smoother:
For any publishers using WordBay, phpBay and BANS, some additional information regarding RSS 2.0 compatibility can be found near the end of this post.
Finally, if you believe that you have made the switch to RSS 2.0, but want to confirm, please take a look at the URL structures below and compare them to the beginning of the URLs you are using:
- RSS 2: http://rest.ebay.com/...
- RSS 1: http://rss.api.ebay.com/ws/rssapi...
We hope that we have been able to provide you with all of the information you need to successfully make the switch to RSS 2.0 before the May 31st deadline. If you still have questions, please contact customer service HERE so that we can assist. For general questions or comments, please feel to leave them below.
