In this episode of EPN TV, John Toskey looks at the program’s previous year, while providing a preview of what we’re looking forward to in 2017.
John shares that eBay had a strong year as a top shopping destination in 2016: The company’s record fourth quarter included 2 million new active buyers, while mobile purchases crossed the $10 billion mark for the first time ever.
And likewise, John shares that EPN is a top marketing channel for eBay, with affiliates driving more than 2 billion clicks to eBay in 2016. To help you build links and grow your earnings, we introduced two new tools last year – Smart Links and the Bookmarklet. We also launched the Insiders community as a way for you to network with other publishers, learn ways to optimize, and provide us with feedback.
And while we had a successful year, John acknowledges that we weren’t without issues. We experienced a significant tracking issue that persisted for several months throughout 2016. John stresses that tracking and attribution are the foundation of performance marketing, and we don’t take this issue lightly.
After actively working to identify and fix contributing factors and issuing earnings credits, John says our team is confident that we’re accurately matching transactions to partners. We are placing a significant investment on tracking, and we are committed to continuously improving our infrastructure to make sure that all affiliates are paid the commissions that they have earned.
John also mentions what we’re looking forward to in 2017. eBay and EPN are undertaking a number of initiatives to help you grow your earnings.
