For the vast majority of our partners, commissions peak during the holidays as a result of eBay sales. We are now just days away from the top shopping days of the year: Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Sunday (when one-third of the Cyber Monday buyers really begin shopping) and Cyber Monday.

Given that 69% of Americans spend money on the iconic “Cyber 5” days – the five days from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday – now is the time to make sure that your site is optimized and you’re taking full advantage of eBay resources that make earning abundant commissions convenient and easy.

Here is your Cyber 5 Checklist; check it twice to be sure you’re doing all you can to maximize your holiday earnings.

1) Use our RSS Feed Generator to pull in the best commissionable deals.

Deals abound on eBay, which is key for the 52% of holiday shoppers who count on them when buying gifts. Our customizable RSS feed generator allows you to pull listings into your site in real time and easily filter by commissionable deals, occurrence, listing date, price, and more. (To start using it now, check out our Quick Start Guide.)

Check it: Set your Feed to automatically sort and pull items or deals by newest listings, lowest price, free shipping, PayPal compatibility, top-rated sellers, or even auction end-date and relax -- your query automatically refreshes to deliver real-time info to your audience.

 2) Bookmark our Holiday Hub pages.

Holiday Home: You can send traffic directly to our Holiday landing pages, use it to find holiday promotion inspiration to create your own compelling content -- or both. This is your destination for trending gifts, money-saving coupons, brand name items by category, and a “gift finder” for buyers to get inspired with perfect presents for him, her, kids, home, pets and more.

Small Business Saturday: We’re known for our extensive selection of unique, hard-to-find items, and small businesses and mom and pop shops have always been an important part of that inventory mix. Leverage our support for Small Business Saturday and get the added bonus of helping empower small business owners everywhere.

Check it: Use our link tools (Bookmarklet & Link Generator) to easily create links that direct your visitors to an individual item or a landing page like the one for Small Business Saturday.

3) Save precious time & drive more traffic by using Smart Suite.

Between Smart Links, which easily and automatically converts every eBay link on your site into a personalized affiliate link, and Smart Placements, which accelerates your conversion rate with customized, dynamic display ads, holiday promotion just got a lot easier.

Check it: Customize the style of your Smart Placements with three different banner sizes, 14 different colors, and a variety of fonts. And use your own search criteria to select search results that sync with your site and your marketing goals.

4) Review your site health  and be sure you’re following best SEO practices.

It’s never a good time to get penalized by Google’s search algorithm – which changes frequently and without notice – and it’s especially important this time of year to do all you can to safeguard your search visibility. Make sure your page content is no more than 30% advertisements, ditch intrusive ads (i.e. pop-ups, full-screen, animated, sticky or auto-playing), and focus on delivering valuable content to your readers.

Check it: Check out Google’s Ad Experience report to give you insight into whether or not your website is impacted by Google’s ad quality algorithms and at risk for any upcoming browser (especially Chrome) updates.

5) Use our Holiday Creatives to capture attention and clicks.

Our Holiday Creatives gallery is full of eye-grabbing graphics in a number of color palettes, for all different categories and promotions, including Deals, Price Match Guarantee, Small Business Saturday, Electronics, Fashion, Home & Garden and more.

Check it: Want to know how your Creatives are performing? Head over to the EPN portal and check your By Tool/Creative report, which tells you which type of Creatives work best, and the By Campaign report, which tells you how each placement on your page is performing (if you choose to use a different Campaign ID for each placement). Then use this data to optimize for what type of Creative works best and where on your site.

This week, we’re reflecting on everything we’re thankful for. We want to thank you for being our partner, and let you know that we appreciate all you do. Here’s wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
