Affiliate Summit

Connecting with Our Partners at Affiliate Summit West

Another Affiliate Summit is in the books and I suspect that many of you have returned home and started executing on some of the information and actionable contacts you picked up in Las Vegas. Additionally, we know that many of you can’t make the event each year and will gather takeaways from blogs and other social media channels. For those that are interested, we thought we’d share the focus and the takeaways of our trip to Affiliate Summit.

In years past, we’ve focused industry trends and what other companies are working on in the space. And while we’re still dialed-in to the greater affiliate marketing industry, our focus was a bit different this year. Instead of looking outward at the events and sessions, we chose to focus our team’s attention on partner meetings.

You’ve heard a lot about our V.O.T.E.S. strategy and that will continue to be a familiar theme as the year progresses. We’re working hard to remove obstacles and better understand what our publishers need to grow their business with us. Our meetings at Affiliate Summit went a long way to helping us understand what we need to do to move the needle.

What were some familiar themes you kept hearing at Affiliate Summit? We’d love to get your feedback in the comments below.

Celebrating Our Publishers at Affiliate Summit East

We're almost finished here at Affiliate Summit in New York, but I wanted to share some photos we took at our Partner Happy Hour last night at Heartland Brewery in midtown. Our team consisting of: Brian Marcus, Saquib Pasha, Peter Bexelius, Adam Anderson, Kristiné Kirschke, Roger Limon and myself got the chance to hang out and chat with many existing publishers - and some that are interested in joining the program. It was a great way to get feedback on what's working for them and also understand what some of their challenges look like.  It was a nice low-key way to chat, laugh and enjoy a beer and some food.

Thank you to everyone that stopped by to say hello to us at Heartland Brewery - we enjoyed the chance to hang out and get to know you better. For those that couldn't attend, don't worry, I'm sure we'll be doing it again soon in another city.

Kicking Off Affiliate Summit East 2012

Participants chat at the Meet Market during Affiliate Summit East

Greetings from New York City! The eBay Partner Network Team has arrived at the Hilton and we're excited to be amongst friends and colleagues at Affiliate Summit East. Today, the Meet Market kicked off and various companies showed off their businesses and the vast array of opportunities available to potential partners. Personally, I get excited to see what trends are driving innovation and what we can expect to see in the coming six months.

We'll be here through the end of the conference on Tuesday night and would love to catch up if you're in New York. To those that RSVP'd to our Happy Hour tomorrow night, we'll look forward to seeing you then.

For those interested in keeping up with our team during the conference, you can connect with us on Twitter.

Meet with the ePN Team at Affiliate Summit in New York!

One of the milestones that remind me it’s August each year is the annual pilgrimage to the Hilton in New York for Affiliate Summit East. From August 12-14th, the eBay Partner Network Team will be meeting with partners, attending sessions and catching up with colleagues we haven’t seen since the last Affiliate Summit. Personally, these types of events help me re-energize and remind me why I work in this industry. Spending time with our publishers, exchanging ideas with the industry elite and clearing my head in the bustle of NYC always sends me back to California with a renewed sense of purpose and vigor.

This year we’d like to invite you to a happy hour on Monday, August 13th from 4-6PM at Heartland Brewery (1285 6th Avenue) – just two blocks from Affiliate Summit! The event is open to everyone, but space is limited so we ask that you RSVP if you plan on attending. We did this last year and found that a laid back, intimate setting was just the right environment for having great conversations over a cold beer with current and future partners. We hope to see you there!

If you can’t make it to our happy hour event, we hope you’ll track us down and say hello at another point during the conference. Stop us in the hall, after a session or in the lobby bar – we’re there to connect and we hope we get to do so with you.

For those that are curious, or just want to re-live last year's magic, here are some highlights from our trip last year, including some shots of our happy hour at Heartland Brewery!

Safe travels to New York.
