The Force is Strong with Star Wars Memorabilia

Die-hard fans have already been talking about it for months: the release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga. All six episodes of the film series will be included in the hi-definition Blu-ray 9-disc set, which will be released on Sept. 16. Fans of the pop-culture staple are already discussing the deleted scenes, added dialogue and behind-the-scenes extras included in the set, which is currently available for pre-order on eBay.

Last week, listings and corresponding sales of Star Wars items jumped to three times the typical levels, and the excitement is expected to continue to boost sales as a whole new generation is introduced to Han, Leia, Luke, Darth, Yoda, Chewie and the gang. There are many ways for you to take advantage of the high interest in the release, as buyers relive the memories associated with the fun and fantasy that is Star Wars.

As one of the most popular film series of all time, the fanaticism extends beyond just the actual movies. New and vintage Star Wars collectibles are popular on eBay, as are themed toys like Legos. Fans can read into the psyche of their favorite characters by snatching up books and comic books, or just daydream about intergalactic adventures as they gaze at a vintage Star Wars poster.

New York designers also recognized Star Wars as a hot trend for spring 2012 during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week… okay, maybe not, but there are plenty of Star Wars apparel options for those who are into wookiee wear. For those who would rather save it for Oct. 31, costumes for kids who will channel Yoda or a lightsaber-wielding Darth are sure to be popular choices, with Halloween already on the minds of eBay buyers.

Last but certainly not least, unique memorabilia and experiences will be up for bid on our Use the Force for Good auction, which supports Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C).

We are already promoting Star Wars sitewide, so don’t miss the opportunity to get in on the action by promoting Star Wars-themed items in the categories that are relevant to your site’s visitors.
